Three Massachusetts males ( one from Marlborough and two others) robbed two men from Medway of three pairs of sneakers in late January.
On January 21, the two Medway agreed via Snapchat to meet someone at a Marlborough apartment complex to sell a pair “Beluga” Yeezys, the mismonikered “Space Jam” Air Jordan 11, and the Travis Scott x Air Force 1.
According to Sergeant Zachary Attaway, when the sellers opened the trunk of their car to show the shoes, one of them was punched in the face, while one of the other suspects emerged from a second vehicle pointing what looked to be a firearm. One of the suspects took the sneakers out of the trunk and then the robbers fled the area.
Sgt. Attway added that the victims had dash camera footage and was able to provide that , along with the Snapchat information of the person with whom they were corresponding. That individual turned out to be a juvenile who was charged. This led to the identification of 18-year-old Lucca Drummond, who turned himself into police last week. He was subsequently charged with:
- two counts of armed robbery
- armed assault to rob
- assault with a dangerous weapon
- conspiracy to commit a crime
- larceny of property worth more than $1,200
He was arraigned last Thursday in Marlborough County District Court; he was released on a $1,500 bond. He is due back in court on March 31 for a pretrial conference.
Police also recovered a BB gun, which they think was used in the robbery. Sgt. Attaway also said the sneakers were recovered but were damaged.
Attaway also said they believed this robbery was in retailiation for previous sneaker transaction that went awry.
As of the writing of this article, the third suspect has not been identified.
